Most people talk about the “golden mean” and a moderate lifestyle. However, we offer you a different method of understanding life. We assume that you too don’t like the phrase “golden mean” and believe in achieving perfection through balance and harmony of body, mind, and spirit. You’re probably wondering how this is possible!
Here is our proven technique:
It resembles a diving board – it prepares your body for purification so that it is ready to engage in higher meditative techniques. Hatha Yoga is truly a method based on the principle of balance, designed to bring harmony into your life. The word “hatha” comes from “Ha,” meaning Sun, and “Tha” – Moon. Hatha Yoga combines energizing and dynamic yoga poses, represented by the sun, with calming and meditative poses, represented by the moon. This combination of opposites acts as a homogeneous mixture for your organism. By uniting the two types of poses, your body inevitably derives the maximum benefit. Your emotions, feelings, thoughts, and actions begin to align and function like a well-tuned clockwork mechanism.
Did you know?
Western doctors and scientists are discovering additional health benefits from practicing Hatha Yoga. Studies show that it can relieve symptoms of several common and potentially life-threatening diseases such as arthritis, arteriosclerosis, chronic fatigue, diabetes, AIDS, and asthma. Some people believe it can even prevent and slow down aging!
How does yoga affect the mind?
increases awareness of the body;
releases chronic stress patterns in your body;
refreshes your body by relieving muscle tension and relaxing both your body and mind;
improves your concentration;
enhances your memory;
frees your spirit.
Hatha Yoga for Health
Our body is built from a very complex energy system. In order to enjoy good health and well-being, the flow of energy must be balanced. Too little energy, called Tamas, can lead to a lethargic and apathetic mind and a heavy and sluggish body. Excessive energy – Rajas – makes your mind clouded and irritable, and plants restlessness in your body. When your energy is in balance, you experience health and vitality – and that is exactly the goal of Hatha Yoga. The state of perfect energy balance in your system is called Sattva. It is expressed through a calm and alert mind and a light, vital body.
Hatha Yoga represents a well-structured sequence of balanced yoga poses. For example, the sequence of poses in Sri Sri Yoga consists of alternating passive and active poses, which bring the body’s energy to perfect equilibrium. Here the emphasis is on practicing asanas (poses) and pranayamas (breathing techniques) with strong determination and steadiness.

Practicing yoga develops both the mind and body, bringing many health benefits, but it is not a substitute for medications. It is very important to learn how to perform yoga poses under the supervision of a trained Sri Sri Yoga instructor. In case of any medical condition, practice yoga only after consulting your doctor and your Sri Sri Yoga teacher.
